Introduction to Diagnostic Essay

The purpose of my diagnostic essay was to see where was academic voice was and to see if I know how to use it. I had an intended audience of highly professional scholars so the essay was very formal. this writing made me think of the term,” voice in writing” a lot. I was unable to use word in the first person so I had to find a way to say my thoughts and my point of view across. As I wrote this essay I asked myself why did people get really upset over a family. I learned that the world is changing and there are a lot of different families. I felt that with this paper I had very little strengths, but I know that my weakness were the lack of research. Although we where given places to look as far as information, I felt that if I would have did a little more looking I could have found information that would have helped me better. I also feel that a big weakness I had was not being interested with this topic which lead to question after the essay. I asked myself the say question as before, why are people so upset with biracial families. That is still a question I have today because I felt it was not answered.
